The Supper

In plastic

A few short poems on the actors in this play.

The traitor

Quietly sitting

Watching, waiting

Why did you do it?

Hoping? Hating?

Chosen and called, then

Following, leaving,

Betrayed Son of Man,

What hides in your heart?

The Liar

Passionate, bold,

You rose up in the fold

And said, “Lord, I’ll never forsake Thee!”

But soon you’ll be crying

and your Lord will be dying

Alone, for you lied to be free.

Shepherdless

Not I, Lord, Nor I, Lord,

Nor I, cried his sheep.

But when the cross threatened,

They all fell asleep.
