The Sleeper, Pt. 3–in two acts

The Prince opened the letter; his face grew grim.

“What is it, my Lord?”

“The Deceiver has entered her home. I must leave at once. Is all in readiness?” He asked.

“Yes, my Lord. We shall await your return. Speed you on!”

As he leapt onto his horse, he sent thoughts winging their way toward her. If she would only ask the Helper for protection… but she had spurned Him.

He prayed it wasn’t too late.

It couldn’t hurt anything, could it? At least, that was what she told herself. After all, her Prince was taking such a long time, and she was so lonely. He would not begrudge me companionship, would he? After all, it makes me happy, which should make Him happy.

There was no turning back now.

She had gone too far.

And sleep fell over the land.
